The UAE condemns Iranian attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan, describing them as a dangerous escalation

Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE strongly condemned the missile attacks launched by Iran targeting military sites in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq. These attacks resulted in deaths and injuries among Peshmerga forces.

Official condemnation and dangerous escalation

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, affirmed that these attacks represent a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of the principles of international law.

It also stressed its rejection of all forms of aggression that threaten the security and stability of nations.

The statement indicated that targeting military bases within Iraqi territory reflects the gravity of the escalating tensions in the region.

It further warned of the potential repercussions of these tensions.

Solidarity with Iraq and Kurdistan

The UAE reaffirmed its full solidarity with Iraq and its support for all measures aimed at protecting its sovereignty and security.

It also expressed its support for the Kurdistan Regional Government in confronting these security challenges.

The UAE stressed the importance of maintaining regional stability

and emphasized the need to avoid further escalation that could worsen the situation.

Condolences and calls for calm

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the Iraqi government and people.

It also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.

In closing, the Ministry stressed the importance of adhering to international law

and working to de-escalate tensions in order to preserve regional security.

It further emphasized the need to prevent the escalation of the conflict.
