Kuwait City, Kuwait – The Kuwaiti National Guard announced on Monday that its task force shot down seven hostile drones that had violated Kuwaiti airspace in the past 24 hours.
This comes amid escalating military tensions in the region, and demonstrates the readiness and effectiveness of the Guard.
Shooting down drones
Kuwait National Guard spokesman Brigadier General Dr. Jad’an Fadel explained
that specialized forces were able to detect and intercept several drones that entered Kuwaiti airspace with the Guard playing a central role in these operations.
Seven drones were shot down in a single day.
This was part of ongoing monitoring and response operations to any aerial threats by the Guard units.
27 drones were destroyed
The spokesperson indicated that the National Guard forces have shot down a total of 27 drones
and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) since the beginning of the attacks related to the escalation with Iran thanks to the decisive action by Guard personnel.
This includes three UAVs and 24 unmanned aerial vehicles.
These actions were part of the defensive efforts of the Guard to protect the country’s airspace and vital installations.
Dealing with missile debris and shrapnel
In a related development, the spokesperson confirmed that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)
unit of the Engineering Battalion responded to 31 reports of missile remnants, with support from the Guard.
