Abu Dhabi, UAE – King Abdullah II of Jordan arrived in the UAE on Monday for an official visit during which he will meet with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
They will discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, in addition to regional developments and issues of common interest.

The talks between the two sides are scheduled to address ways to develop joint cooperation
in various political, economic, and investment fields.
The strategic partnership between the two countries will also be strengthened.
The two leaders will also discuss a number of current regional issues and coordinate
on matters affecting the security and stability of the region.
Ongoing coordination between the two countries
This visit comes within the framework of the close relations between Jordan and the UAE.
Both countries are keen to maintain coordination and consultation on various Arab and regional issues. Relations between the two countries are witnessing growing cooperation in many fields, particularly economic and developmental.
In addition, there is cooperation on matters of security and stability in the region.
Appointment of a deputy to the king during the visit
In a related development, Faisal bin Hussein was sworn in as Regent before the Cabinet, coinciding with King Abdullah II’s departure from the Kingdom for his official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
The swearing-in ceremony follows established constitutional procedures in Jordan for the King’s travel abroad.
The visit reflects the continued high-level political communication between the leaderships of the two countries.
This, in turn, strengthens the frameworks of joint cooperation and serves mutual interests.
