Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli artillery targeted several areas in southern Lebanon this evening. This comes amid ongoing military escalation along the border between the two sides.
Bombing of southern areas
The agency reported that Israeli artillery shelling targeted the areas of Sadiqin and Jabal al-Batim in the southern sector of the country. This led to chaos and a state of tension and anticipation in the villages and towns near the targeted area.
It added that explosions were heard in a number of surrounding areas. At the same time, Israeli reconnaissance aircraft were flying over the south.
Tensions escalate on the border
This shelling comes amid escalating military tensions on Lebanon’s southern border in recent days. The area has also witnessed intermittent exchanges of fire and shelling between the Israeli army and Hezbollah elements.
