Washington, DC – US Central Command warned that Iran is deliberately using populated areas to launch ballistic missiles and drones. This tactic increases the risk to civilians and complicates any defensive or counter-offensive operations.
US Central Command stated that this behavior poses a direct threat to regional and international security and exposes civilian infrastructure, schools, and hospitals to grave danger. As a result, it could lead to a humanitarian catastrophe in the event of escalation.
It added that Iran is exploiting population density as cover for its attacks. Therefore, it becomes difficult for international or regional forces to accurately locate or engage launch sites without endangering innocent lives.
The command emphasized that monitoring Iran’s movements and countering these attacks requires urgent international coordination. At the same time, U.S. and allied forces must prepare for any sudden escalation.
Analysts explained that the escalation of such attacks increases tensions in the region and makes any potential military confrontation more complex and dangerous. Furthermore, there is a risk of rapid escalation that could affect innocent civilians in multiple areas.
The U.S. command stressed the need for the international community to act swiftly to establish mechanisms to mitigate these risks. This must be done before the situation develops into a widespread humanitarian catastrophe.
