Baghdad, Iraq – The Iraqi Foreign Minister affirmed that the escalating attacks and tensions in the region aim to draw Iraq into the ongoing war. He also warned of the dangers of dragging the country into a regional conflict that could threaten its security and stability.

The Minister explained that the Iraqi government is following the rapidly evolving developments in the region with grave concern. He indicated that Baghdad is working to protect its sovereignty and national security. He also stressed the necessity of sparing Iraq any direct repercussions from the ongoing conflict.

He added that Iraq refuses to be an arena for settling scores between rival powers. He affirmed that his country is exerting intensive diplomatic efforts with regional and international parties to contain the escalation and prevent the confrontation from widening.

He pointed out that the continuation of attacks and aggressions in the region could lead to serious repercussions for security and stability, not only in Iraq, but in the entire Middle East. This is due to the security and political interdependence among the countries of the region.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister stressed that diplomatic solutions and dialogue remain the only way to avoid sliding into a full-blown confrontation. He called on the international community to take urgent action to reduce tensions and prevent the crisis from worsening.
