Abu Dhabi, UAE – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed the serious developments unfolding in the region during a phone call. They also discussed the repercussions of these developments on regional and international security and stability, in light of the recent military escalation.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the two leaders reviewed the overall situation in the region during the call. They also discussed the potential impact of current events on the security and stability of nations. They emphasized the importance of coordination and consultation among brotherly countries to address the current challenges.
Mutual solidarity between the two countries
During the call, the UAE President expressed his concern for Kuwait in light of what he described as Iranian aggression. He also affirmed his country’s solidarity with Kuwait in all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and citizens.
For his part, the Emir of Kuwait expressed his concern for the UAE. He also affirmed his country’s solidarity with Kuwait in defending its sovereignty, security, and stability in the face of current challenges.
Condemnation of Iranian attacks
During the call, both sides affirmed their condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the territories of their respective countries and several other brotherly nations. They also considered these actions a violation of state sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law and the UN Charter.
They emphasized the necessity of respecting state sovereignty and preserving regional security and stability. They warned of the dangers of continued military escalation and its impact on regional stability.
Call to halt escalation
The President of the UAE and the Emir of Kuwait emphasized the importance of taking all necessary measures to ensure the security and stability of both countries and their people under the current circumstances.
