Cairo, Egypt – In a move reflecting its commitment to transitioning to clean energy sources, the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (Ethydco) announced the commencement of construction on a solar power plant within its industrial complex in Alexandria. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to reduce its consumption of conventional energy and minimize carbon emissions.

The new station represents one of the company’s leading projects in the field of environmental sustainability. It aims to generate a portion of the complex’s electricity needs through solar energy, contributing to significant economic savings and a positive environmental impact.

Ethydco confirmed that the project aligns with Egypt’s 2030 vision for transitioning to a green economy and increasing reliance on renewable energy. The company noted that the station represents a model for integrating industry with environmental protection goals and achieving sustainable development.

Through this project, the company aims to support the petroleum sector’s shift towards clean energy. It also underscores its role as a national company contributing to building a more sustainable future for generations to come.
