Kuwait – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced Saturday evening that three members of the armed forces were injured by falling debris at Ali Al Salem Air Base. This occurred while air defense systems were intercepting waves of ballistic missiles and drones targeting the country.
Military mobilization to protect the airspace
The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted the General Staff of the Army as confirming the continuation of military operations aimed at countering hostile attacks. It also stressed that its forces are on high alert to protect Kuwait’s airspace and safeguard its national sovereignty against any external threats.
Targeting the new airport project T2
In a related development, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works announced that the new Kuwait International Airport (T2) project was targeted by a drone. The statement explained that the attack resulted in limited material damage to the facilities under construction, with no injuries reported among workers at the site. The ministry confirmed that the project site was immediately evacuated. Furthermore, all necessary precautionary measures were taken to ensure the safety of engineering and technical personnel and to assess the extent of the damage caused by the attack.
