Cairo, Egypt – A prominent international conference entitled “Peace and Development in the Arab and African Context” opened today in Cairo, under the auspices of the League of Arab States. The conference was attended by a number of Arab and African leaders and officials, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations concerned with development and security issues.
The conference highlights the importance of strengthening cooperation between Arab and African countries in the areas of security, peace, and sustainable development. It also discusses strategies for addressing shared challenges such as regional conflicts, climate change, and poverty. Furthermore, the conference supports youth initiatives and women’s empowerment.
The opening session was inaugurated by the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, who emphasized the importance of unifying Arab and African efforts to achieve stability and development in the region. He noted that the conference provides an important platform for exchanging experiences and perspectives among participating countries.
The conference also included panel discussions and specialized workshops that addressed successful experiences in peacebuilding and promoting development projects. In addition, future plans to enhance economic and social integration between Arab and African countries were reviewed.
