New Delhi, India – Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of the Indian state of Maharashtra, was killed today when the plane he was traveling in crashed in a tragic accident that shook political and popular circles in India, and led to widespread shock and grief.

Indian media reported that the crash occurred shortly after takeoff, under mysterious circumstances,

with initial speculation pointing to a technical malfunction.

Rescue and fire crews rushed to the scene to try to control the situation and recover the victims.
