Washington, DC – The death toll from the severe snowstorm battering the United States has risen to 21, as the extreme weather continues to spread across several states. Daily life has been brought to a near standstill, with widespread power outages and travel disruptions.

US authorities have warned of an unprecedented cold wave, with temperatures plummeting to dangerously low levels. This increases the risk of frostbite and poses a serious threat to residents, particularly the elderly and homeless. Citizens have been urged to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

Official reports indicate that the storm has closed major highways and airports, and thousands of flights have been canceled. Emergency teams are working to rescue those stranded and restore power to affected areas under extremely challenging conditions.

Meteorologists consider this storm one of the most severe weather events in recent years. They warn that its effects will persist in the coming days, with the possibility of further temperature drops and heavy snowfall. This threatens to exacerbate human and material losses if the utmost caution and vigilance are not taken.
