Moscow, Russia – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense forces successfully destroyed and intercepted 22 Ukrainian drones overnight. These drones targeted several locations within Russian territory.
In an official statement, the ministry said the drones were detected and engaged at different times. It confirmed that air defense systems effectively countered the attack without any casualties or significant damage to vital infrastructure.
The statement added that Russian forces remain on high alert. They are working to strengthen security measures to protect residential areas and infrastructure, given the continued drone attacks.
This development comes amid the ongoing military escalation between Moscow and Kyiv. Recent weeks have seen a marked increase in the use of drones in the ongoing confrontations between the two sides.
