Washington, DC – US President Donald Trump issued a warning to Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Saturday following the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Petro condemned the US-led raid on Venezuela earlier on Saturday that resulted in Maduro’s arrest.
The Colombian president, a close ally of Maduro, wrote on the X website: “They attacked Venezuela,” calling for an emergency meeting of the Organization of American States and the United Nations.
A reporter asked Trump during a press conference earlier that day: “You said that President Petro of Colombia should be careful. Petro said he wasn’t worried.”
Trump responded: “The drug dealer, I think I still stand by my initial statement. He should be wary of the consequences of his actions.”
