Hargeisa, Somaliland – Somaliland authorities have categorically denied reports of an agreement with Israel allowing for the establishment of military bases within the region. They asserted that these reports are baseless and fall under the category of misinformation circulating without any official confirmation.

Officials in the region emphasized that Somaliland has not signed any such military agreements or understandings. They indicated that its foreign policy is based on balanced openness and respect for international law, without engaging in military arrangements that infringe upon the region’s sovereignty or security.

The authorities added that any external cooperation is announced transparently through official channels. They urged the media to exercise accuracy and not to be swayed by unreliable reports.

This denial comes amid growing regional speculation about new security arrangements in the Horn of Africa. This prompted Somaliland to issue an official statement to dispel the rumors.
