Ankara, Turkey – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has moved to arrange a meeting with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool player, in the coming period, following a request from Trabzonspor club president Ertugrul Dogan.
Trabzonspor is preparing to face Konyaspor tomorrow, Saturday, in the fifth round of the Turkish League, while arrangements continue for Salah’s meeting with the Turkish President.
The Turkish newspaper “61 Hours” reported that Erdogan made a call to Ertugrul Dogan, the president of Trabzonspor, and during his conversation he mentioned Mohamed Salah, before the club president revealed the Egyptian player’s desire to meet with the Turkish president.
According to the report, Erdogan gave instructions to work on setting a suitable date to meet Mohamed Salah as soon as possible.
There were attempts to hold the meeting during this week, coinciding with a tour that Erdogan was expected to conduct in the cities of Samsun and Rize, but Trabzonspor’s commitment to facing Konyaspor and its conflict with the Turkish president’s schedule prevented the meeting from being completed on the proposed date.
The anticipated meeting between Erdogan and Mohamed Salah is expected to take place inside the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara, which is the official residence of the President of the Republic of Turkey, if the President’s schedule and time permit.
These moves come amid a mutual desire to complete the meeting, after the president of Trabzonspor confirmed to the Turkish president Mohamed Salah’s desire to meet him.
