Moscow, Russia – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems successfully shot down and neutralized 29 Ukrainian drones in a short period of time, less than three hours, in attacks that it said targeted several areas within Russian territory.
The ministry stated in an official statement that the drones were detected and dealt with in successive stages. It affirmed that the monitoring and interception systems operated with high efficiency and prevented any casualties or significant damage to infrastructure.
The statement explained that the airstrikes were part of repeated attempts to target civilian and military sites. It emphasized that Russian forces had raised their level of readiness in anticipation of any further escalation.
In the same context, local authorities in some areas indicated that air traffic and services continued normally. Temporary precautionary measures were taken to ensure the safety of residents.
These developments come amid escalating tensions between Moscow and Kyiv, with the conflict witnessing a rise in the use of drones as a primary tool in military operations. This occurs against a backdrop of international warnings about the widening scope of the confrontations and their impact on regional stability.
