Aden, Yemen – A number of officers from the Ministry of Interior in Yemen’s interim capital, Aden, announced on Thursday their full support for the Southern Transitional Council’s actions.

They affirmed their support for what they described as “efforts to enhance security and stability in the southern provinces.”

The officers said in a widely circulated statement that the Ministry of Interior congratulates

what they consider to be victories achieved by the “Southern Armed Forces”

in the areas of Wadi Hadramawt, Al-Mahra and Shabwa.

They believe that these moves have contributed to cutting off smuggling routes

that are used – according to the statement – to support the Houthi militia.

Ending the influence of the Brotherhood

The statement added that these developments represent a “strategic turning point”

for the security of what they called “South Arabia” and the region in general.

They pointed out that it helped end the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood.

This is in addition to dismantling terrorist organization strongholds

that were active in some provinces.

The officers explained that they are following developments

on the southern front with great interest.

They stressed that the ongoing moves aim, as they put it, to consolidate sovereignty

and achieve the aspirations of the people of South Arabia.

In addition to maintaining social peace and strengthening security institutions.

In contrast, the Saudi Foreign Ministry had previously denied

that the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council had approved the move.

Or the Arab coalition on the recent military movements of

the Southern Transitional Council in the governorates of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra.

Unjustified escalation

The ministry confirmed, in a statement published via the “X” platform,

that these unilateral steps led to an unjustified escalation.

It also harmed the interests of the Yemeni people and the efforts of the coalition.

She stressed that the Kingdom has focused from the beginning on unity and peaceful solutions.

For his part, the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council,

Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, said in a post on “X”:

“We highly value the steadfast fraternal stance of our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,

This is in addition to the Yemeni people and their sincere efforts to reduce escalation i

n the eastern governorates and protect the legal status of the state.”

Al-Alimi added: “We affirm our commitment to the partnership with the Kingdom,

and to uniting ranks in order to achieve the aspirations of Yemenis for security, stability and peace.”
