Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE affirmed that targeting civilian infrastructure and facilities in the region constitutes a blatant and grave violation of the established principles and provisions of international law and international humanitarian law.

It also reiterated its complete rejection of any acts targeting civilians or vital infrastructure.

The need to respect the rules of international law

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, stressed the need to respect the rules of international law

and ensure the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure.

It affirmed that attacks on civilian facilities exacerbate the humanitarian situation

and threaten regional security and stability.

The UAE called on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid any actions

that could escalate the conflict or endanger civilian lives.

Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of prioritizing political

and diplomatic solutions to resolve crises and maintain peace and security in the region.

Strengthening regional security and stability

The UAE reiterated the importance of intensifying international efforts

to de-escalate tensions and protect vital infrastructure.

It stressed the need to ensure the continuity of essential services for the population,

in accordance with international obligations and humanitarian principles.

The UAE affirmed its commitment to supporting all initiatives

aimed at strengthening regional security and stability.

It also emphasized that respect for international law and the protection of civilians are fundamental pillars

for achieving peace and preventing further escalation in the region.
