Tehran, Iran – Iranian opposition media revealed an attempt by the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to recruit a Ugandan citizen. The aim of this attempt was to attack the Israeli embassies in Uganda and Senegal with a hand grenade. However, the plan failed before it could be carried out.
Pakistani Quds Force member Zahid Jawad oversaw the recruitment of the Ugandan. The Ugandan appeared in a video confirming that he was asked to photograph the embassy buildings. He said he received financial offers via WhatsApp messages and was given the codename “Rambo.”
An informed source revealed to Iran International that three Iranian members were linked to the plan: Meysam Sahraei, Reza Ghobadi, and Abbas Mohammad Naeem. All three belong to Unit 840, which is responsible for operations outside Iran’s borders.
She also noted the involvement of a Bangladeshi operative on the ground. The Quds Force used a “mover within a mover” tactic to minimize the likelihood of the operation being exposed.
In a related development, the channel reported that the Revolutionary Guard transported weapons to Africa via a cargo plane belonging to Fars Qeshm Air. From there, the weapons were transferred to the Houthis in Yemen. These new routes were exploited after arms shipments through Syria were restricted.
