The Internal Security Directorate in Homs announced, via the official Syrian news agency “SANA”, the end of the curfew imposed

during the past hours on a number of neighborhoods.

She emphasized the continued security deployment in the city

to ensure stability and a gradual return to normalcy.

According to the statement issued by the Directorate of Internal Security,

the lifting of the ban came after a comprehensive assessment

of the security situation in the areas that witnessed limited tensions.

The relevant authorities indicated that the security operations succeeded

in containing the situation and preventing the spread of the unrest.

A broader field plan

The statement added that joint patrols will continue to be deployed

around the clock in order to prevent any violations and to consolidate

the calm that has begun to strengthen in the city.

Security officials confirmed that the measures taken are part of

a broader field plan aimed at strengthening internal security.

Controlling unlicensed weapons and preventing any attempts to destabilize the country.

She also stressed that cooperation between citizens

and security forces played a major role in quickly controlling the recent events.

She noted that reports received from residents helped in identifying

some hotspots and dealing with them immediately.

Ensuring the safety of residents

SANA explained that traffic has begun to gradually return within the city,

coinciding with the reopening of roads that were closed during the lockdown period.

Meanwhile, security forces continue to set up temporary checkpoints at a number of main entrances.

This is in order to ensure the safety of the population

and to monitor any activity that disrupts public order.

These developments come amid official confirmation

that the current priority is the full stabilization of Homs.

And to provide a safe environment that allows essential services

to continue and normal economic activities to return.
