Washington, DC – US authorities have launched a wide-ranging investigation following an explosion, described as deliberate, inside a Harvard Medical School building. The explosion caused panic among students and staff, but no serious injuries have been reported so far.
Security sources reported that police and fire crews rushed to the scene immediately after the explosion. The fire was brought under control and the building was evacuated as a precaution. Bomb disposal units began sweeping the area to ensure it was clear of any other devices.
A Boston police spokesperson stated that initial indications suggest the explosion was an intentional act. He confirmed that an investigation is underway in cooperation with the FBI to identify suspects and determine their motives.
Harvard University administration confirmed in an official statement that it is fully cooperating with authorities. It emphasized that the safety of students and faculty is its top priority. Classes have been temporarily suspended at the university until further notice.
