Paris, France – French President Emmanuel Macron affirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Iraq’s stability and strengthening its national institutions, emphasizing that Paris does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and will have no role in the upcoming electoral process there.
In official statements, Macron said that France considers Iraq a key partner in maintaining regional security and combating terrorism, noting that cooperation between the two countries extends to the fields of economy, energy, education, and culture.
The French President explained that his country supports the Iraqi government’s efforts to consolidate democracy and achieve sustainable development, stressing that the Iraqi people alone have the choice to determine their future through the ballot box.
Macron’s statements come as Iraq prepares to hold important elections in the coming period, amid intense international and regional scrutiny of the political situation in Baghdad.
