Sana’a, Yemen – The Houthis announced the death of Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari, chief of staff of the Houthi group, after he was wounded in an Israeli airstrike during the Israeli operation.
which targeted a number of Yemeni leaders last August.
The Houthi armed forces said in a statement that al-Ghamari “was martyred while performing his jihadist duty.”
Noting that he was seriously injured in the attack carried out as part of the Israeli operation on August 28,
which also resulted in the killing of Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahwi and other members of his government.
Israel will pay the price
The statement added that Al-Ghamari’s 13-year-old son and a number of his companions were killed with him.
Threatening that Israel will pay for its crimes
Al-Ghamari survived an assassination attempt in June while attending a qat chewing meeting in Sana’a.
But he has disappeared from view since then.
Israeli attack
On August 28, Israel named the operation Operation Drop of Luck.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out the operation with at least ten strikes.
The target was a meeting attended by 10 leaders of the Ansar Allah government.
According to the report, Israeli fighter jets were able to secretly enter Yemeni airspace thanks to a complex camouflage plan.
This was before launching a concentrated attack on the building where more than ten senior Houthi military and political leaders had gathered.
Sources confirmed that Abdul Malik al-Houthi was not among those targeted in the attack.
