Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Saudi Arabia welcomed the agreement reached to stop the war in the Gaza Strip. The Kingdom will begin implementing the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s proposal. It is aimed at calming the situation and preparing the atmosphere towards a comprehensive and just peace path.
In its statement issued on Thursday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s appreciation for the effective role played by the US President. Additionally, it noted the efforts made by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey to reach this agreement. She praised the mediation efforts that contributed to achieving this important step towards ending the war.
Saudi Arabia stressed that this step represents the beginning of a process towards alleviating the human suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. This is in preparation for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces and the restoration of security and stability in the region.
In addition, she called for taking successive steps to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
Saudi Arabia explained that its vision stems from the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant United Nations resolutions.
To ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
It affirmed its support for all international efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue. This includes implementing the two-state solution.
