Moscow, Russia – Russian forces managed to capture a group of soldiers of a Ukrainian special unit in Donetsk, a Russian news agency reported.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces had “neutralized” more than 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers within 24 hours.

In detail: The Russian news agency “TASS” reported that Russian forces were able to capture a group of soldiers of the Ukrainian special unit “Skala” in the vicinity of the city of Krasnwarmisk (the Russian name for the city of Pokrovsk) in Donetsk Province.

The sources reported that the group of prisoners includes a number of soldiers who were forcibly recruited into the Ukrainian forces.

The sources added that their surrender came after their combat units were completely eliminated in the battles.

Full care and assistance are currently provided to prisoners in accordance with international laws.

It is noteworthy that Russian forces continue to gradually encircle Ukrainian forces on the Krasnoarmeysk– and Dimitrov axis.
