Tehran, Iran – Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, denied that IAEA inspectors directly inspected Iranian nuclear facilities.

This sparked controversy, as the International Agency confirmed that its inspectors in Iran were inspecting nuclear facilities.

Just a wish

Azizi stressed that “inspections of damaged nuclear facilities are merely a wish of the Director General of the Atomic Agency, Rafael Grossi”.

He stressed that “the presence of the agency’s inspectors is a media lie,” as he described it.

Grossi is a servant of the Americans

He also added, in statements on Friday evening: “I contacted officials of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and they denied the presence of agency inspectors”.

In addition, Grossi was accused of seeking to implement the Americans’ goal.

“The Americans want to know what happened to our nuclear sites,” he said.

The IAEA announced in a statement yesterday that it had resumed inspections in Iran this week.

This comes after a halt following US and Israeli attacks targeting nuclear facilities.

However, she refused to reveal the locations of the facilities that were inspected, explaining that this operation was secret.

Failure of Russian-Chinese efforts

This came after a Russian-Chinese draft resolution failed to postpone the imposition of UN sanctions on Iran yesterday. The draft did not have the required votes in the Security Council.

This prompted Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to confirm that re-imposing sanctions on his country would entail suspending the agreement with the IAEA. This agreement was concluded in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on September 9.

It led to the resumption of UN inspections in Iran.

But Grossi previously explained that the agency would resort to guarantees to continue inspections. This would happen if the trigger mechanism was activated.

It is noteworthy that the European Troika (France, Germany and Britain) had launched the process of re-imposing sanctions on Iran on August 28.

The Security Council later voted to approve it, meaning that the sanctions will enter into force on Saturday evening.
