Moscow, Russia – The Kremlin announced that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict between the two countries are stalled.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday: “Our negotiators have an opportunity to communicate through channels”. But for now, it is probably more accurate to talk about the cessation of negotiations.
He warned in statements to reporters, “against being overly optimistic that the negotiation process will lead to immediate results”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to occupy all of Ukraine.
Zelensky also stated at a conference in Kiev that “Putin’s goal is to occupy all of Ukraine”. No matter what he says, he has clearly activated the war machine. It is to such an extent that he simply cannot stop unless he is forced to radically change his personal goals.
On the other hand, he urged his country’s allies to put pressure on China. This is in turn to pressure Russia to put an end to the war.
The US President hinted at the possibility of imposing sanctions on Russia, without making any firm commitments in this direction.
In an interview with the American Fox News network, Trump said when asked whether Russia’s refusal to put an end to the conflict constituted a test of his patience: “It is running out, and it is running out quickly”.
Trump stressed the need for “the contribution of both parties”. This is in order to reach a solution that ends the war that has been going on for years.
“It’s amazing,” he added. When Putin wanted to do it (reach an agreement), (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky did not want to. When Zelensky wanted him, Putin did not want him.
He continued: “Now Zelensky wants it while there is a question mark about Putin”. We will have to take very firm action.”
