Washington, United States – US President Donald Trump accused his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping of “conspiring” against his country with Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who are in Beijing to attend a huge military parade commemorating the end of World War II.
“I wish President Xi and the great people of China a wonderful day of celebrations,” the Republican president wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. This was before he added in a sarcastic tone, “Please convey my best regards to Putin and Kim Jong Un while you are conspiring against the United States”.
China is unstoppable
For his part, President Xi Jinping declared that his country “cannot be stopped.” This was in a speech he delivered on Wednesday morning in Beijing at the beginning of a huge military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
“The renaissance of the Chinese nation is unstoppable, and the noble cause of peace and development for humanity will inevitably triumph,” Xi said in a televised speech.
“Today, humanity once again faces a choice between peace or war, dialogue or confrontation,” he added.
The Chinese President called on countries around the world to “eliminate the root cause of the war and prevent the recurrence of historical tragedies”.
“Common security can only be guaranteed when the countries of the world treat each other equally, live in harmony, and support each other,” he said.
The huge military parade was launched in the presence of more than 20 heads of state. Among them are especially Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
