Dubai, UAE – The UAE has continued to consolidate its position as one of the world’s most advanced countries in digital infrastructure. After topping the global rankings of mobile Internet speeds.
It also ranked second globally in fixed internet speeds, according to the latest data from Okla’s SpeedTest Global Index platform for April 2026.
The data showed that the UAE ranked first in the world in mobile internet speed. It recorded an average speed of 647.28 Mbps, far ahead of its closest competitor.
Qatar came in second place globally with a speed of 561.91 Mbps, followed by Kuwait in third place with a speed of 365.69 Mbps. Bahrain then ranked fourth with a speed of 267.76 Mbps, while Brazil ranked fifth globally with a speed of 261.63 Mbps.
The ranking highlights the Gulf countries’ dominance of the world’s top ranks in mobile internet services. Four Gulf countries took over the top four places. This reflects the volume of investments in 5G networks and advanced digital infrastructure.
In the fixed Internet index, the UAE ranked second globally with an average speed of 375.66 megabits per second.
