Talks between Dubai Chambers and Cape Town PM aim to boost intra-regional trade and investment

Cape Town, South Africa – The Dubai Chambers discussed ways to boost trade and investment with the Western Cape province of South Africa. This was during a meeting held in Cape Town with His Excellency Alan Wendy, Prime Minister of the Western Cape. With the participation of Salem Al Shamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers.

During the meeting, the Dubai Chambers reviewed the integrated business environment in the emirate and the opportunities it provides for the expansion of South African companies into regional and global markets. In addition to the importance of Dubai’s role in international trade and facilitating the building of cross-border partnerships. Enabling the local business community to benefit from promising economic opportunities in regional and international markets.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the trade mission organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to Cape Town. As part of its efforts to support the expansion of companies operating in Dubai into South African markets, it is exploring prospects for cooperation with local partners. And explore new areas of growth in all sectors.

Common economic opportunities

Alan Wendy affirmed his commitment to strengthening and expanding trade relations with Dubai and the UAE, as part of efforts to build new bridges of shared economic opportunities. Dubai World’s position as a leading center for finance, logistics, tourism and innovation is consistent with our vision to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic growth that contributes to providing job opportunities.

For his part, Salem Al Shamsi stressed the Dubai Chambers’ keenness to expand the horizons of economic cooperation with the business community in the Western Cape and South Africa as a whole. Exploring new opportunities for cooperation in diverse sectors to enhance corporate competitiveness. It opens the way for qualitative investments that serve the common interests of both parties.
