Seoul, South Korea – Samsung has seen an escalation in employee protests. This comes after approximately 40,000 workers took to the streets in mass demonstrations demanding higher wages and benefits.

Protesters gathered outside a Samsung factory in Pyeongtaek, demanding a 7% pay raise.
They also called for the removal of the cap on bonuses and additional benefits.
The demonstration was organized by labor unions representing tens of thousands of employees.
The unions, representing approximately 90,000 workers, announced their intention to strike from May 21 to June 7.
If negotiations with company management fail, it threatens widespread disruption to production.
