Dubai, UAE – The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that its air defenses did not detect any ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, or drones coming from Iran in the past 24 hours, as of Wednesday, April 9, 2026. It also confirmed that the country’s airspace remained free of any aerial threats during this period.
The ministry stated that since the beginning of the “blatant Iranian aggression,” UAE air defenses have intercepted 537 ballistic missiles. They also intercepted 26 cruise missiles and 2,256 drones targeting the country.
The Ministry added that no new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours. Therefore, the total number of confirmed cases remains at 224, representing a variety of nationalities. These include Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepalese, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, Swedish, Tunisian, Moroccan, and Russian nationals.
The Ministry also noted that no new deaths or fatalities were recorded in the past 24 hours. It clarified that the total number of martyrs since the start of the attacks remains at two. In addition, a Moroccan civilian contracted with the armed forces was killed. The Ministry further stated that the total number of civilian deaths has reached 10, comprising individuals of Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian, and Egyptian nationalities. The Ministry of Defense affirmed its readiness and preparedness to address any threats. It also emphasized its commitment to resolutely confronting any attempts to destabilize the security of the state. This ensures the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability, and protects its national interests and resources.
