Dubai, UAE – South African Casey Jarvis has strengthened his position in the “Race to Dubai” golf classification for the DB World Tour season.
After winning the Investec South African Open title.
To achieve his second consecutive title in two weeks, and advance to third place in the rankings issued on Monday.
He is one step closer to qualifying for the finals of the season hosted by the UAE in Abu Dhabi and Dubai next November.
Last week, Jarvis won his first title on the tour through the Kenya Open.
Before continuing his brilliance in front of his country’s fans yesterday, he finished the tournament with 14 under par strokes.
This came in an edition that saw the fourth and final round halted due to thunderstorms, a common factor in his winning both championships.
The player scored 500 points, raising his total score this season to 1,390 points in the “Race to Dubai” classification.
The runner-up spot in the tournament was shared by the Italian Francesco Laporta, the Frenchman Frederic Lacroix, and the South African Henie de Plessis, after they finished the competition with 11 strokes under par.
Emirates.. Sixth place
In terms of Emirati participation, Adrian Otaygui achieved the best Emirati result this season in the DB World round, finishing in sixth place with 8 strokes under par.
To gain 152 points, and advance 47 places at once to 75th place in the “Race to Dubai” classification, which enhances its chances of competing to reach the final qualifiers.
The tournament is the eleventh stop on the DB World Tour calendar this season, and one of the “International Series” tournaments, which includes seven tournaments held in five countries across two continents.
It started from the UAE, and witnessed stations in Bahrain and Qatar, and will conclude in South Africa next week.
According to the new season calendar of “Race to Dubai”, no less than 42 championships will be held in 25 countries around the world.
The UAE will host the final qualifiers, with the top 70 players qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Yas Links Championship from November 5 to 8, 2026.
Then the top 50 players to the DB World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Real Estate Golf Club from November 12 to 15, 2026.
