Dubai, UAE – Dubai Airports has announced a “limited” resumption of flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), effective Monday evening, March 2.
Dubai Airports said in a statement that operations would resume on a limited basis. It urged passengers not to go to the airport unless contacted by their airline to confirm their departure time.
The General Civil Aviation Authority announced on Saturday a “temporary and partial” closure of the UAE’s airspace.
In the same vein, Emirates and flydubai announced a limited resumption of flights starting Monday evening. Emirates clarified that priority would be given to customers with existing bookings. It also confirmed that it would contact those who had rebooked to travel on these limited flights directly. All other flights will remain suspended until further notice.
Flydubai, for its part, urged passengers to update their contact information and check their flight status on the airline’s website before heading to the airport.
Etihad Airways, which operates flights from Abu Dhabi, announced that it will continue to suspend its flights until Tuesday.
Dubai is one of the world’s leading aviation hubs, ranking first globally in international air traffic. It also ranked second in total passenger numbers in 2024, after Atlanta, according to the latest statistics from Airports Council International.
