  • Long-term partnerships to support stability
  • Billion-dollar investments in the energy and industry sectors
  • Growing momentum in bilateral relations

Munich, Germany – The UAE Embassy in Germany, in collaboration with ADNOC, XRG, Masdar, and the German-Emirati Business Council, hosted a high-level reception on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. More than 300 business leaders, decision-makers, and government officials from across Europe attended.

Long-term partnerships to support stability

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy to Germany, affirmed that the UAE, in line with its leadership’s vision, focuses on building strategic partnerships that support stability and foster growth. He also noted that energy security is a fundamental pillar of comprehensive security in today’s world, thus necessitating the establishment of strong and long-term relationships. He added that the UAE is proud to be a trusted partner of Germany and Europe, committed to supporting energy security and driving economic development.

Billion-dollar investments in the energy and industry sectors

ADNOC, XRG, and Masdar are contributing to the resilience of Europe’s energy system by diversifying supplies, expanding investments, and fostering sustainable industrial cooperation. Their combined investments in the energy and industrial sectors across the continent exceed €38 billion.

Germany is a key partner in this collaboration, with Emirati investments in its energy and industrial sectors exceeding €18 billion. Plans are in place to increase this to approximately €30 billion over the next decade.

Growing momentum in bilateral relations

The ceremony followed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit to the UAE, during which agreements were signed between Masdar, ADNOC, and RWE to enhance Germany’s energy security. This reflects the growing momentum in economic and strategic relations between the two countries.
