  • Strengthening bilateral relations

Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed that air operations between the UAE and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria are continuing normally, despite the recent notification from the Algerian side regarding the suspension of the air transport services agreement between the two countries.

The GCAA explained that this measure falls within the mechanisms stipulated

in international agreements and will not have any immediate impact on flight schedules.

The agreement will remain in effect

The GCAA indicated that the agreement will remain in effect for the specified legal period.

It also emphasized that coordination with all relevant parties is ongoing through official channels.

This aims to ensure the smooth operation of air traffic.

The GCAA stated that it is handling these developments with a high degree of responsibility and professionalism,

in accordance with established legal and diplomatic frameworks,

to guarantee the uninterrupted continuation of air connectivity between the two countries.

The authority added that the procedures related to this notification do not affect passenger safety or the stability of flight schedules.

It also clarified that all national and international airlines operating

at the country’s airports are committed to implementing the applicable legal arrangements.

The authority affirmed its readiness to take any additional measures if necessary.

Furthermore, it emphasized maintaining continuous communication

with the Algerian authorities to ensure the prompt and flexible resolution of any operational issues.

Strengthening bilateral relations

This affirmation comes within the framework of the UAE’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of air transport.

It also aims to strengthen bilateral relations with brotherly and friendly countries, contributing to the stability of commercial and tourist air traffic.

It is worth noting that the General Civil Aviation Authority has always been keen to follow the best international practices in managing air traffic.

The authority is also monitoring any developments that may affect operations.

Therefore, the UAE affirms its commitment to continuing air services with Algeria

without interruption, taking into account all legal and diplomatic regulations,

in a step aimed at maintaining the continuity of air traffic and the comfort of passengers between the two countries during the transitional period.
