Dubai, UAE – A group of leading composers and musicians confirmed that the artistic cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait was not just a passing “melodies”,

Rather, it was a journey of “creative brotherhood” that shaped the musical identity of the Arabian Gulf region,

and transformed the Emirati poem and the Kuwaiti melody into a cultural symbol that transcends borders.

Anwar Abdullah: The honor of composing music for the poems of leaders

During a session entitled “The Emirati-Kuwaiti Song” as part of the Media Forum activities at the Museum of the Future,

The esteemed composer Anwar Abdullah, head of the Kuwaiti Artists Association,

recalled the beginnings of his collaboration with senior Emirati artists since 1985.

Abdullah expressed his deep pride in composing music for poems by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

And to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,

and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,

He emphasized that the combination of Emirati lyrics and Kuwaiti melody gave the song

a unique artistic dimension that contributed to its widespread Arab popularity.

Ibrahim Juma: Kuwait is a beacon of “beginnings”

For his part, composer Ibrahim Juma, arts advisor at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, described

Kuwait was the first “cultural beacon” that opened the eyes of Emirati creators.

Jumaa pointed out that the establishment of the “Emirates Arts” studio

by composer Anwar Abdullah represented a major turning point,

The studio has been transformed into a “creative laboratory” that blends Kuwaiti rhythm

with Emirati musical authenticity, far removed from any material considerations.

Khaled Nasser: Combining style and musical language

For his part, composer Khaled Nasser pointed out that interaction with pioneers of Kuwaiti art enriched

the Emirati experience in terms of musical language and artistic style.

Describing the artistic cooperation between the two countries

as having produced timeless works that have won the admiration of the public,

The joint art institutions played the role of a “university” that produced generations of artists

who today raise the banner of contemporary Gulf art.

“Brothers Forever” Week

This session, moderated by journalist Asmahan Al Naqbi,

comes as part of the “UAE and Kuwait… Brothers Forever” week activities,

to highlight the depth of human ties strengthened by the arts.

She emphasized that the “shared melody” was and still is the strongest means of expressing

the unity of destiny and feelings between the two brotherly peoples.
