Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Emirates Judo Federation announced the approval of the participation of 260 male and female players of various age groups.
They represent 23 countries in the Kalba International Open Championship.
The Federation confirmed in a statement that the tournament, which it is organizing in cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council and Kalba Club, will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
This is part of its activities for the new season 2025 – 2026.
He mentioned the list of participating countries, which includes the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Turkey, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Brazil, America, Belgium, Colombia, and Cameroon.
He added that the under-18 category consists of 45 female players, the women’s category consists of 25 female players, 110 under-18 players, and 80 men’s players.
For his part, Rashid Saeed bin Fresh Al Kindi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kalba Club, confirmed that the support of the Sharjah Sports Council has a great impact on developing judo at the club and discovering emerging talents.
He expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with the Judo Federation, headed by His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaaloub Al-Durai.
This resulted in a distinguished player base, hosting the international tournament, and ensuring its annual development.
