Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates – The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones Authority “Rakez” and “Emerge”, the joint venture between Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” and the “EDF Power Solutions” Group, signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting renewable energy solutions within the “Rakez” system.
This took place during the second session of the Ras Al Khaimah Investment and Business Summit.
The signing took place in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah.
The cooperation aims to accelerate the adoption of clean technologies and sustainable practices across the emirate’s industrial and commercial sectors.
The agreement was signed by Yasser Abdullah Al-Ahmad, Head of the Government and Institutional Communications Sector at Rakez, and Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerg. In the presence of Luke Cocklin, CEO of EDF Power Solutions in the Middle East, and Ali Al-Shammari, member of the Board of Directors of Emerge.
Under this cooperation, RACES and IMEG seek to identify and implement sustainable energy projects across economic zones.
Includes solar power generation, energy storage, and hybrid solutions.
In line with the UAE’s clean energy vision and Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040.
Rami Jallad, CEO of Rakez Group, said: “This partnership represents an extension of (Rakez’s) ongoing efforts towards integrating sustainable energy practices into our industrial and commercial system, enabling our customers to achieve their development ambitions while reducing the environmental impact”.
For his part, the General Manager of Emerg said: “This partnership reflects our commitment to providing high-impact, cost-effective clean energy solutions to companies of all sizes. In cooperation with (Rakiz), we are working to enable a more competitive, efficient and environmentally responsible industrial system that contributes to supporting economic growth in line with the UAE’s long-term goals in the field of sustainability.”
