Dubai, United Arab Emirates – H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, announced a grant. This grant is to distribute all retail stores in the sustainable Hatta Falls project to the citizens of the Hatta area free of charge.
The grant aims to create additional job opportunities and meet social, economic and environmental development needs.
The Supreme Committee for Supervising the Development of the Hatta Region announced the offering of 14 investment and commercial opportunities within the project. These opportunities are available through Dubai Municipality.
It aims to enhance commercial activity, encourage and support local national projects. In addition, it provides investment opportunities for the people of Hatta. Thus, enhancing the region’s position as an attractive global tourist destination.
Dubai Urban Plan 2040
The project is in line with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 and the objectives of the comprehensive development plan. It aims to develop the Hatta region. It also aligns with the initiatives of the Supreme Committee for Supervising the Development of the Hatta region. These initiatives aim to enhance the economic and tourism aspect. Furthermore, it activates new tourist sites in the region and creates investment opportunities for the people of Hatta.
It also integrates with Dubai Social Agenda 33 and Dubai Economic Agenda D33, to drive the economic growth of the Emirate of Dubai. The project aims to enhance its world-leading model of business and sustainability. This ambition is to make it one of the top three global destinations for visitors in the tourism sector. This is achieved through a unique combination that enhances economic development. Additionally, it preserves environmental sustainability. It also consolidates the region’s position as a heritage and tourism destination.
The commercial opportunities offered for investment through Dubai Municipality vary. They include: 4 restaurants, 4 retail stores, and 6 food and beverage units, with an area of up to 750 square meters.
It is scheduled to include different categories. These offerings span fast food, Arabic, Western, Emirati, and popular cuisine. In addition to specialized local cafes and the sale of equipment and gifts, continuous efforts will be devoted to supporting sustainable development. Furthermore, they aim to provide projects with a social and economic dimension that support citizens.
Investment and commercial opportunities
Badr Anuhi, Executive Director of the Public Utilities Corporation at Dubai Municipality, said: “Providing investment and commercial opportunities for the first time in the Hatta Dam area, specifically on sustainable waterfalls, represents an important step towards strengthening the local economy. It also provides a commercial environment that creates unique job opportunities for citizens. Moreover, it encourages the launch of new projects. In addition, it supports productive families and Hatta residents to expand their businesses and small projects. These business projects will support the economic development of the region. Thus, opening the doors for a new generation of Emirati entrepreneurs to develop their projects.
Dubai Municipality called on all citizens in the Hatta area who wish to benefit from these sites to fill out the application form. This can be done through the link www.dm.gov.ae/business. After which, the competent committee will select participants according to the specified criteria.
The sustainable Hatta Waterfalls are a distinctive tourist destination, featuring a waterfall cascading down from the upper dam of the Hatta Hydroelectric Power Plant. It cascades over a mosaic mural depicting the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God bless their souls. They are the largest in the world, covering an area of 2,199 square meters and consisting of more than 1.2 million pieces of natural marble.
