Damascus, Syria – The Syrian Ministry of Energy announced on Monday the signing of an agreement to purchase natural gas from Jordan, a move aimed at improving the electricity situation and reducing power outages. Syrian state television confirmed that the signing took place in Damascus in the presence of Syrian Energy Minister Mohammed al-Bashir and his Jordanian counterpart, Saleh al-Kharabsheh. The Jordanian minister explained that the agreement stipulates the supply of approximately four million cubic meters of natural gas to Syria daily, equivalent to about 140 million cubic feet.
