Astana, Kazakhstan – Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation club players won three medals.
The achievement came with two silver and one bronze medals, in the Kazakhstan International Taekwondo Championship, classified in the “G1” category, and approved by the International Federation, with the participation of 250 male and female players from six countries.
Amna Al-Loughani from Kalba Women’s Sports Club won silver in the “under 68 kg” weight category.
While player Fatima Saad from Sharjah Sports Club for Women won silver in the “over 59 kg” category for juniors.
Her colleague Maryam Jassim also won a bronze medal “weight under 51 kg” for the same category.
Abdullah Hatem, technical director of taekwondo at the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation clubs, confirmed that the tournament witnessed a high level of competition.
He pointed out that what the female players have achieved is an important achievement and an indicator of the development of competitive capabilities.
He added that these results confirm the extent of the players’ commitment to training and the efforts of the technical staff in the various clubs of the institution, and represent a new step towards achieving more accomplishments and raising the state flag in international championships.
