120 employees from 36 government and private entities participated in the program, engaging in training courses aimed at developing their skills in machine learning, data analysis, generative artificial intelligence, and AI-enhanced software development.

The program focused on raising the competencies of Dubai government employees in employing artificial intelligence technologies, enhancing the digital economy, and stimulating government innovation by investing in new ideas and emerging technologies.

The program included three main tracks:

  1. The AI Developers Path, which focused on building smart solutions and employing AI technologies in systems development.
  2. The AI Pioneers Pathway is designed to enable enterprise leaders to lead the adoption of AI and its strategies.
  3. Finally, the Copilot Pioneers track focused on leveraging Microsoft Copilot tools to enhance productivity and creativity in the workplace.

The ceremony included honoring participants from government and private agencies who successfully completed all stages of the program, from theoretical training to practical application.

Matar Al Humairi, CEO of the Dubai Digital Government Foundation, honored the winning teams in the two hackathon projects that showcased innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence.

He stated: “Developing government personnel has always been a key focus of Dubai’s digital transformation. The effective partnership between the public and private sectors has also contributed to the development of a new generation of digital competencies equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to shape the future. The AI Skills Programme, developed in collaboration with Microsoft, embodies this trend and underlines our commitment to enabling Dubai Government employees to employ AI technologies responsibly and efficiently, reflecting Digital Dubai’s commitment to enhancing the emirate’s readiness for a future based on innovation, collaboration and continuous learning as solid foundations for smart government and a sustainable digital economy

Yvonne Shabib, Director of the Government Sector at Microsoft UAE, said: “At Microsoft, we seek to empower individuals, institutions, and governments that seek to provide more efficient and innovative government services”.
