WASHINGTON, United States – U.S. forces are using surveillance drones in the Gaza Strip to monitor the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, The New York Times reported, citing Israeli and American military sources.

The newspaper explained that the drone missions aim to provide Washington with direct and independent information about the situation in the Gaza Strip, with Israel’s approval.

These missions are part of the activities of the Israeli-American Civilian-Military Coordination Center (CMCC). The center was recently established in southern Israel to facilitate communication between the two sides during the truce period. The center also aims to monitor the situation on the ground.

Images captured by aircraft are also used to assess compliance with ceasefire agreements. This helps provide accurate and continuous reporting on operations on the ground.
