Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The Abu Dhabi Canoe Team participates in the third round of the Formula 2 World Canoe Championship.
The tournament will be held in the Italian city of San Nazzaro, from August 29 to 31.
The competition begins on Friday with a technical examination. This leads to the “Best Time” race on Saturday. The start of the main and final race competitions is next Sunday.
The choice fell on Rashid Al-Qamzi, the five-time world championship title holder. Additionally, Salem Al-Yafei, who participated for the first time in this category after moving from Formula 4, was chosen.
This is to represent the team in the tournament. The delegation is headed by Nasser Al Dhaheri, in addition to Jumaa Al Qubaisi, “Radio Man”.
The team’s technical and administrative staff confirmed that the two participating boats are currently undergoing an integrated maintenance and equipment program. This includes improvements in performance and speed, in line with the nature of the San Nazzaro route.
Meanwhile, Al-Qamzi and Al-Yafei are undergoing field training in Italy. This helps them adapt to the atmosphere of the region before the start of the competitions.
