Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The second edition of the “Al Freej Fridge” humanitarian community campaign, supported by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and launched by Farjan Dubai in collaboration with the UAE Water Aid Foundation and the UAE Food Bank, has distributed more than one million bottles of water, juices, and ice cream to workers in Dubai in just one month since its launch on June 23.
The overwhelming response to the campaign embodies the principles of social solidarity that pervade Dubai’s society, as well as its commitment to supporting and appreciating workers. The campaign targets cleaners, construction workers, delivery drivers, and agricultural workers who work on the streets and roads.

The campaign will continue until August 23, 2025, distributing two million bottles of cold water, juices, and ice cream to workers. This will help mitigate the effects of summer heat on workers and instill values of compassion and giving in the Dubai community. It will also encourage community members to participate in mitigating health risks associated with high summer temperatures, such as dehydration and heat stress, thereby contributing to their well-being.
Campaign Partners
The campaign’s partners played a pivotal role in supporting the “Al Fareej Fridge“, enabling it to distribute more than one million bottles of water, juices, and ice cream to workers within a month, by providing the necessary resources and logistical support.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation’s support for the “Fareej Fridge” campaign comes as part of its ongoing efforts to consolidate community giving and enhance the quality of life for workers. The Foundation is providing all its resources to support the campaign, in addition to encouraging volunteer participation to expand the distribution to include the largest possible number of beneficiary areas and workers in Dubai.
Ibrahim Al Balooshi, Director of Sustainability and Partnerships at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, said: “We at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives believe in the importance of supporting workers who face difficult daily challenges, especially during the summer. We work in cooperation with our partners to provide everything that contributes to improving their health and enhancing their quality of life.”
He added, “The Al Fareej Refrigerator Campaign represents a shining example of collaborative humanitarian and community work, and we invite everyone to contribute to this campaign, which presents a refined model of solidarity and compassion among all members of society.”

Community Interaction
Alia Al Shamlan, Director of Furjan Dubai, said: “Distributing more than one million bottles of water, juices, and ice cream to workers in just one month since the launch of the ‘Furjan Fridge’ campaign is a remarkable achievement that reflects the widespread community engagement with its humanitarian mission. The campaign has proven its ability to mobilize institutional and volunteer efforts and unify energies to serve a key segment of our society: workers, who are a vital pillar of Dubai’s development.” She noted that this achievement would not have been possible without the generous support of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and the close collaboration with our partners, the UAE Water Aid Foundation and the UAE Food Bank, who provided all the capabilities and resources to ensure the campaign’s success.
She added: “We continue to work at an accelerated pace and with a team spirit, along with supporting entities and volunteers from the community, to achieve our goal of distributing two million packages, and to deliver a message of gratitude and appreciation to those working in the field under the soaring summer temperatures.” She expressed her confidence in the continued support of community members and institutions for the campaign, which will enhance its humanitarian impact and consolidate the spirit of social responsibility that distinguishes our Emirati society.
Social Responsibility
The UAE Food Bank has provided its own warehouses equipped to store water, beverages, and ice cream, and has allocated its own refrigerated distribution vehicles to ensure safe and rapid delivery to workers’ sites across Dubai. In addition, its volunteers have participated in field distribution operations. The UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia) has also contributed to the campaign by providing large quantities of cold water for distribution to workers.
The “Al Freej Fridge” campaign’s implementation mechanism relies on refrigerated distribution vehicles that travel throughout the Emirate of Dubai, delivering water, juices, and ice cream directly to workers’ locations. Additionally, refrigerators are also provided at workers’ accommodations. The campaign also attracts a wide range of volunteers from across the community to contribute to the distribution process.
The campaign reflects Farjan Dubai’s efforts to instill a sense of community responsibility in Dubai’s residential neighborhoods, particularly towards workers, in appreciation of their efforts and dedication to their work and to bring them happiness and joy. Farjan Dubai is a social enterprise that seeks to empower local communities in Dubai’s residential neighborhoods and enhance communication and trust between them and government and private institutions by stimulating the spirit of volunteering and community contribution to create a community movement that improves quality of life and promotes positive behaviors and values in society.
