Tokyo, Japan – SNK, in collaboration with Plaion Replai, has announced the upcoming release of the Neo Geo AES+, a redesigned version of the legendary gaming console that dominated the 1990s. This release targets retro gaming enthusiasts looking to relive past memories with modern-day technology, combining authenticity with digital innovation. Accordingly, the launch of the new Neo Geo AES+ represents a strategic move to meet the growing demand for “nostalgia consoles” that support original physical media.
Technical Evolution Featuring 1080p Resolution and Advanced DIP Switches
The new console has undergone radical technical improvements, featuring an HDMI output that supports resolutions up to 1080p for sharp visuals on modern displays. Obviously, the developers were keen to include DIP switches that grant users the ability to customize the experience, such as overclocking and toggling display modes. As a result, the device blends modern efficiency with the ability to function on vintage CRT screens via the traditional AV output, providing a flexible visual experience for all types of gamers.
Diverse Editions and Classic Games with Modern Touches
The console is available in two versions; the “35th Anniversary Edition” in white, bundled with the famous Metal Slug for $349.99, while the standard black edition is priced at $249.99. Certainly, the re-release of 10 iconic titles like The King of Fighters 2002 will bring renewed momentum to SNK’s venerable game library. Accordingly, the launch of the new Neo Geo AES+ remains the highlight of the retro gaming market this year, with shipping scheduled to begin worldwide on November 12.
