TRABZON, TURKEY – Fatih Tekki, the technical director of the Turkish Trabzonspor, commented on the news that linked his club to a contract with the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah during the current summer transfer period, confirming the status of the captain of the Egyptian national team, while refusing to talk about the ongoing negotiations.
Speculation has increased in recent days about Mohamed Salah’s future, after Turkish reports indicated that Trabzonspor had entered the race to sign him, despite his name having been previously linked with a move to Besiktas.
Trabzonspor fans also chanted the player’s name during the club’s anniversary celebrations, indicating their desire to see the Egyptian star in the team’s jersey next season.
Fatih Tekki said, in statements reported by the “Sporx” website: “Mohamed Salah is one of the most important players in the world at the present time, and the association of his name with Trabzonspor gives the club great value”.
He added: “But there is nothing official yet, so I don’t think it’s appropriate to comment on this news”.
The Trabzonspor coach indicated that the club’s management is working to strengthen the team’s ranks before the start of the new season, confirming that the team may include one or two players, and perhaps three players, during the coming period.
This comes at a time when negotiations for Mohamed Salah’s transfer to the Turkish league are still of great interest, amid reports that his move to Besiktas has stalled, and that Trabzonspor has entered the negotiations.
