Madrid, Spain – Julian Alvarez has put an end to the speculation surrounding his future, amid reports linking him with a move to Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Atletico Madrid striker has been linked with a move to the Catalan club, as Barcelona look to bolster their attacking options. Arsenal have also entered the race to sign the player, following his impressive performances this season.
In statements reported by the newspapers “AS” and “Marca”, Alvarez downplayed the rumors about his future, stressing that he is not preoccupied with such news.
He said: “I try not to pay too much attention to what is being said, as new news comes out every week, and I don’t want to waste my energy following it”.
He added: “I am currently focused on what we offer on the field. We are in a crucial stage of the season, and I am striving to be in the best possible shape to help the team achieve its goals”.
He concluded his remarks by saying: “I cannot respond to or deny everything that is published, especially since what is circulated on social media often turns into recurring rumors, so I prefer to focus my attention on what benefits me and the team.”
